Camille Pissarro

Talented artists as diverse as Gauguin, Cassatt, and Cezanneheld Caille Pissarro in the utmost reverence a sa teacher and a man of intergrety. His openness enabled him to transcend his anarchist convictions and get on with teh likes of the extremely reactianary Degas and teh innately conservative Renoir, whilst he was a natural friend and ally to Monet and Sisley, who both struggled long and hard to secure their laces in the art world. Although Pissarro was able to instil confidence in others, he was himself deeply uneasy about his own ability and only settled into a mode of expression which began to satisfy him very late in his life, following a brief unproductive flirtation with Neo-Impressionism.
